2009年7月13日，红线女艺术讲座于我院成功举行。讲座上，红线女老师对我院在“国庆新剧目展演”的《东坡与朝云》、《花蕊夫人》进行了总结与点评。红老师认为，在《东坡与朝云》中，主角的爱情戏还可以深一层刻画；舞美、道具应继续调整，如剧中第一场出现的船，船甲板可以再调整大一点，这样演员就有更多得表演空间，其造型与身段会得到更好的发挥。

红老师表扬了《花蕊夫人》的主演曾小敏、彭庆华、冼鉴棠，指出这些青年演员进步很大，但应再接再厉，更一步深入研究唱腔和表演艺术，让自己的舞台风格更加成熟。

红线女老师在粤剧界中被人形容为“博学”，皆因她汲取百家所长，如京剧、昆剧等。在讲座中，她还即兴示范了一段“官话”古腔，但同时她表示，不提倡将古腔加入到现在的粤剧，粤剧就应用通俗易懂的白话表达。粤剧是广东传统文化，是揉合了百家之长，是经过历史长河分流出来的一条分支，是一个充满地方特色的剧种，现在我们更应用白话表现出我们的地方特色。
